Isn't there a huge disparity between people interested in the inner working of the company (i.e. methodologies/employment) and end-user use of the products. Which way is this going? – Robert Cartaino♦ Jun 30 '10 at 1:31

@Robert: I don't see this Q&A as an application-user help ("How can I sort columns in Excel?"), but any other question about MS in welcome (e.g. "New features in Excel 2010?" or "Does Microsoft use agile development methodology?" or "How many full times employees does have Microsoft in Hong Kong?"). Question posted here seems to reflect this view quite well. – Lorenzo Jul 2 '10 at 11:41

I think questions about low-level Microsoft stuff (kernel, APIs, etc) belongs here. It would reduce strain on SO like the unix/linux proposal did. – tjameson Jun 27 '11 at 22:30

	@Pulkit Sinha- I think this could be on topic. For example, IIS vs Apache in terms of number of concurrent requests on a static server. Is the question, "Is it nice to be a MS programmer?" or "Is it nice to be a MS administrative assistant?", or "Is it nice to be a janitor at Microsoft?" Microsoft is a huge company with, I'd imagine, quite a range of employee's with different work environments. This question also would be difficult to be answered objectively anyhow, even if it were narrowed down to "...programmers based on campus in Redmond" due to different people's opinion's. – Nathan Koop Jun 28 '10 at 20:36
