Suggesting off-topic as it's more about management training than IT – Damovisa Jul 13 '10 at 14:54
If the question body made no mention of IT, then I agree it's probably off topic. However, plenty of IT roles need management skills, so I thought it might fit in here? – William Jul 13 '10 at 21:50

Very subjective... – Damovisa Jul 13 '10 at 14:59

I’ve found limited success in my career (client facing software development, professional services). How can I most effectively increase my value?
added by Frank V Aug 8 '10 at 13:16

The idea is details would be included in the body of the question. IT folks (myself included) can have a bit of trouble balancing the desire of pure software developments with business need. My hope for such a question is to provide guidance for those such developers. – Frank V Aug 8 '10 at 13:25

Is learning [OS|tool] worthwhile, ie is there a future in that product?
added by warren Jul 22 '10 at 1:01
link|flag
Subjective (to the OS|Tool), so I think this would be a off topic example... – Frank V Aug 12 '10 at 0:49
@warren - Please recall that we are looking for the "best" example questions to represent the site. So a cw question wouldn't be acceptable as a "great" on-topic example (or off topic example for that matter). – Frank V Aug 12 '10 at 14:22
@Frank V - cw questions can often be "great" examples .. and I retract my previous statement regarding the subjective nature of this question: for those who watch industry trends, determining the likelihood of a "future" in a given product shouldn't be too subjective (current uptake, historical trends, early adoption, etc) – warren Oct 14 '10 at 17:01
Still don't see why this is a "not a good example" - there are all kinds of objective analyses that can be applied to Product X to evaluate its long-term prospects – warren Apr 6 '11 at 16:18

I agree with william. It's too broad of a question and doesnt directly address IT careers. – David Wiggins Jul 15 '10 at 2:02
Yep. More cowbell . . . this could be for any degree on any educational board topic. – TyKisha Aug 14 '10 at 2:53
