Easiest way would be get a length of PVC pipe, drill holes along the side, have a "waterfall" water pump doing between a garbage can of water on the floor and the PVC. Obviously, you would also then need something to catch the water as it falls (we built a wood trough, and coated it in plastic. Just shop-vac it out nightly) Turn on your pump, and rock and roll. – vanishedmonk May 1 at 15:17

Why is this off-topic? Actors in Shakespeare can spend a lot of time talking about the exact meaning of a word. – DJClayworth Jan 18 '11 at 15:19
I am confused by your usage of 'meaning'; are you after the denotation of the word in Elizabethan times, or are you asking for interpretation of the word in context? I am assuming the latter, and would consider that off-topic. Theater.se can lead a horse to water, but it seems off topic to make it drink (or tell it how to). – mfg Feb 4 '11 at 17:44
Perhaps should be phrased: How would you play, pronounce, ... – ogerard Apr 15 '11 at 13:11
Or even: I cannot reconcile [word1] here with [word2] here (same play, same actor). What is your interpretation ? – ogerard Apr 15 '11 at 13:18
2
If asked as "how do I direct this" or "how do I deliver this line," this seems on-topic to me. If staging/direction recommendations for specific, well-defined problems is on-topic, then this is one of those. – Ziv Aug 22 '11 at 8:50

I'm trying to set up a database that reflects the overview of an entire production. In general, what fields would you put into a "Rehearsal" object?
added by Jarvis Mar 12 at 15:39
link|flag
This seems like a clever way to ask "what do you see as the key defining components of a rehearsal," or some such. Probably too clever - that might've been a decent question, but DB design is clearly off-topic. – Ziv yesterday
Hang on! What do you mean "clearly off-topic"? From my point of view this meets the topic exactly. I'm designing a database and I'm looking for others in the industry to help me come up with the "key components of a rehearsal" exactly as you suggest. Why would you discard this as a valid topic here? – Jarvis 17 hours ago

This is kind of a "dictionary question." It'd be on topic, but not interesting - if you know the phrase, you probably know the meaning; even if you don't, it's trivially Google-able. – Ziv 7 hours ago
