Great example, heard they have this problem at the troop I grew up in. They asked for help from the parents and got nothing back, so had to close down. I hear some parents are following their kids from beavers to cubs and hope they will choose to open the scouts again. – Luke Duddridge Mar 7 '11 at 13:32

I think these is the types of questions that need to be asked on a QA site for scouting ... but the 'no single right answer' questions are frowned upon by StackExchange in general. – Joe May 14 at 14:32

Since this only happens once every few years and changes locations each time, I think it's a good question. It should perhaps be modified to also ask "when" it will be held. – Steven Drennon Aug 15 '11 at 22:59

Should be changed to "I'm going to [Philmont] this summer, what should I pack?" Just Philmont is a bit temprary/localized. – Ian May 2 at 13:35
