Remember that we only have 5 votes each and votes above 10 do not help a proposal definition, so many people consider every vote over 10 to be a wasted vote. It is far more useful to use your vote to approve of a question with fewer than 10 votes. Also, if a question you have already voted on now has more than 10 votes, remember that you can remove your up vote and put it on another suitable question, to help us get through the definition phase more quickly. – Mark Booth Nov 16 '12 at 14:34

Is there a phase transition in [a model with agents] with respect to their interaction strength?
added by Piotr Migdal Mar 20 '11 at 13:33
link|flag
that rather depends on the nature of their reactions, the structure of the network etc... Examples with multiple, single or no phase transition as interaction strength varies shouldn't be too hard to find/construct. – drevicko Jun 13 '12 at 4:55

Is there the conducted research on insect swarms treated as particles bonded by some potential?

Cool stuff, but "is there research on ..." is really a question for google scholar or a journal DB. Might be better phrased as "can insect swarms be modelled as particles bound by some potential?" – naught101 Mar 2 '12 at 14:34
I agree, Naught101, but then finding the right search terms can be hard for someone new to the field. Answers to a question like this could be very helpful. Also, I'd immagine there's alot of terminology specific to application areas that experienced complex systems scientists may not be aware of. – drevicko Jun 13 '12 at 5:00
