Informed consent forms have become so cumbersome that they are never read. Are there guidelines for producing concise, informative consent forms?
added by jthetzel Feb 20 '12 at 18:08

Is this question down-voted because it is too open-ended, or because questions about informed consent are not appropriate for a public health Q&A site? I find questions concerning IRBs and informed consent to be common stumbling blocks among public health researchers and would prefer to refer them to a SE site, if an appropriate one existed. – jthetzel Jun 4 '12 at 14:02

Informed consent is an important issue in clinical epidemiology research, and not just in medical practice. Developing improved consent forms seems to me to fit well into a public health & epidemiology research framework. – Azula R. Jan 19 at 19:51

What are the preferred methods for dealing with endogeneity and reverse causation when estimating the cost of hospital-acquired infection?
added by John Bensin Apr 6 at 23:36

I added this question because although it's very statistical in nature, it's still an important point to consider. Increased length of stay in the hospital may lead to increased risk of hospital acquired-infection, but the contraction of an HAI may lead to an increase hospital stay, so when attempting to measure cost, you may run into reverse causation problems. – John Bensin Apr 6 at 23:37
