Type in paper to switch between the spaces. Paper space allows you to create a detailed look at model objects in model space. The big advantage is that you can use a single model and create multiple sheets from it. – Bimdini Feb 16 at 17:41

The elliptical spline part is pretty straight forward, what I am looking for is how to model the ends where the spring pitch progressively tighten to arrive at its flat grounded ends. My current attempt with two different connected splines result in no tangency between them which is obviously wrong. I can separate them and add a tangent spline between them but I am assuming/hoping there is a better/easier way... – Le Jean-Mi Aug 23 '12 at 17:15

The variable is osmode. It's a flag based variable so its set by adding together the values of the snaps you want set. OSMODE – RJay75 Jun 26 '12 at 12:48

Depends on what you're tracing. Typically when I'm tracing something I project a series of points. If I know the points belong to an curve I can't easily measure a radius for I use a spline. Lines for straight edges and arcs for radial curves. Then combine them to form closed loops. – RJay75 Apr 13 '12 at 14:22

Autodesk has some documentation on this issue in these pdfs usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/pc/…. Revit exports much more cleanly if you use Revit. – Bimdini Feb 16 at 17:39

This can be done if the first saved viewpoint in an animation has the section tool on with the section plane hovering just above the building. If you wish a progressive section of the building, simply move your section plane in the z axis to the bottom of the building in the last saved viewpoint of the animation. Through interpolation, Navisworks will automatically section the building as your animation progresses. – Bimdini Feb 16 at 17:47
