What are the legal documents / requirements to [work/start a business/own real estate/etc.] in [country]?
added by peteroak Aug 5 '12 at 11:08

This Q is very general and ultimately answerable with a link to Timatic. Should be offtopic. – bytebuster Aug 14 '12 at 3:43
oh cool, i didn't even know timatic. – peteroak Aug 14 '12 at 10:57
"Staying" simply requires a tourist visa, and you can ask about that on Travel.SE. Perhaps a better question to ask would be, "What are the requirements to [work/start a business/own real estate/etc.] in [country]?" – todofixthis Aug 22 '12 at 22:36

i was thinking more of the legal aspects of opening a business or accepting a job in a foreign city. I don't know if "requirements" is too broad. – peteroak Aug 24 '12 at 15:58

@bytebuster I think giving a link to Timatic is a valid answer for such a question. As you see the OP was happy to receive that piece of information. There's already a lot of information available on the web, but finding it is another story - not even mentioning the difficulty of finding reliable sources. Here's where a Q&A site can truely shine imo. – Rafael Cichocki Mar 6 at 12:14

How to search for room/appartment to rent in [country][city]?
added by Łukasz Lech Dec 24 '12 at 11:18
link|flag
This may be considered a list question, though. – Sklivvz♦ Dec 31 '12 at 11:48
With explanation, it would be more about searching procedure, list of online searches would be only a part of answer, second part of answer should deal with such things as caution etc. – Łukasz Lech Dec 31 '12 at 12:21

Hi @Thilo, Off-topic examples don't add to the 40 questions needed to move to the next phase and is essentially a waste of one of your 5 questions. Consider removing this question and replacing it with an example of a good on-topic question. If you want to discuss possible off-topic questions, please create a discussion instead. – jmort253 Jul 29 '12 at 22:28

I currently use skype for online communication with my family. Are there any viable alternatives for online video calls?
added by cmiller8 Mar 7 at 8:49

I'd say this isn't a question specific to expats - anyone in the world could be interested alternatives to skype, and I can't imagine an answer that would be specific to someone wanting to live in another country. – Rafael Cichocki Mar 7 at 15:49
1
True, but its a pretty huge issue for expats and thus very relevant. – cmiller8 Mar 9 at 16:33
Ok, I can agree with that. – Rafael Cichocki Mar 10 at 20:41
