Which are the best schools for studying and doing research in this area? [closed]

This question is not a good fit to our Q&A format. We expect answers to generally involve facts, references, or specific expertise; this question will likely solicit opinion, debate, arguments, polling, or extended discussion.

This question is entirely too subjective for this type of Q&A. See the explanation in the close reason above -- These "let's make a list" questions would likely be closed on a Stack Exchange site and should not be used for the basis of good-example questions. – Robert Cartaino♦ Mar 22 '12 at 15:34

This question is very subjective and is just a poll of the community. See the explanation in the close reason above -- These "let's make a list" questions would likely be closed on a Stack Exchange site and should not be used for the basis of good-example questions. – Robert Cartaino♦ Mar 22 '12 at 15:36

What are basic tools needed to build a search engine from scratch? [closed]

closed as not a real question by Robert Cartaino♦ Mar 22 '12 at 15:38

It's difficult to tell what is being asked here. This question is ambiguous, vague, incomplete, overly broad, or rhetorical and cannot be reasonably answered in its current form.

It is better to ask very specific questions about problems you have in your day to day work. These kind of "how do I get started" lists do not make good questions for this type of Q&A. See the explanation in the close reason above -- Any type of "let's make a list" questions would likely be closed on a Stack Exchange site and should not be used for the basis of good-example questions. – Robert Cartaino♦ Mar 22 '12 at 15:39

Should we use a real name or a virtual name on online Q&A sites? [closed]

This question does not relate to the topic of the proposal.

3
Do you mean whether using real names has impact of the success of a Q&A site from a research perspective? Or do you rather mean whether to use real names on this particular site? In case of the former, the question should be refomulated. I case of the latter, this is a meta question an should be discussed elsewhere (it certainly ads credibility to the people asking/answering questions if they use their real names). – Martin Potthast Mar 20 '12 at 13:51
