@paperids - Maybe... but if we start disallowing every possible on-topic question simply because it may be on-topic somewhere else, we'll quickly find that the scope of what can be asked here would be stifling and limited. There are many examples of successful SE sites that overlap with one another slightly. A question should only be off-topic if it's actively detrimental to that community. I believe the entire point of it getting it's own site is to solve problems not found elsewhere. If they're found elsewhere this site is useless. They will surely be submitted on this type of site, but it should not be used to determine it's usefulness. – paperids Jul 27 '12 at 6:02
@paperids - The point of the blog article is to remind us to focus on this site, not the other sites that are out there. While an exact overlap would of course close this as a duplicate, strict borders will only serve to kill the site. – jmort253 Jul 27 '12 at 7:06

I would rather not see this site turn into a collection of 'does an extension exist to do x in y platform' questions. While this is technically related to eCommerce, typing that form of question into Google gives you a plethora of options. A question of how to implement it yourself would also not belong here since those questions fit more in the Magento section of the main Stack Overflow. – amishbot Sep 21 '12 at 21:48
