Well, the question could be rephrased to something like "I'm new to Contiki, is there a getting started manual?", but it REALLY IS important for people googling to reach that how-to easily. It's sort of the Contiki Hello World. You wouldn't want to mess with anything else without having done that... – Sébastien Dawans Aug 7 '12 at 22:30

People ask how to get started with Contiki all the time. Getting and running Instant Contiki is actually the best way to do this (as the answer that was removed explained). Perhaps if it wasn't removed we wouldn't need this discussion because it would be more obvious. – Mariano Alvira Aug 8 '12 at 23:59
It is, but that's well covered in the docs already, I don't think this is representative of the questions that would get asked on here. If anyone upvoted this they should undo it and upvote something else, as it's closed. – Matthew Wilkes Aug 9 '12 at 10:02
