	wording: how about "the different inheritance mechanisms", "inheritance schemes", or "inheritance paradigms". You could also specifically address "view inheritance" or "model inheritance" – odony Jan 10 at 13:39

TheOpenSourcerer has a really nice guide here; theopensourcerer.com/2012/03/… . The gist of it is you install nginx and do a reverse SSL, and allow OpenERP to only listen to localhost. – MLindsay Jan 11 at 18:52

More suitabable for ServerFault, actually. There are some specific details to take care for OpenERP, such as WebDAV/Documents. IMO one important point of this proposal is to unify into one place what today is scattered is SO, SuperUser and ServerFault. – DReispt Jan 8 at 17:25

By the way, the "v7" here is only included in the title because there are no other way to specify the version. But in a typical SE site, it would probably be specified with a tag (way easier for research and referencing). – Anto Jan 8 at 16:27

	Yes this is what I was thinking of. Well it is the kind of question how to inherit some object there are some case you need xpath and attributes. Maybe I should make it more generic to be a good valuable question. – Yannick Jan 11 at 20:51

Technically I think it would be possible with orm changes but there would no added value. Mysql becomes minus transparency. Postgresql rocks, is opensource for ever (differents contributors, not only one company). There are a lot of other ways to help OpenERP. The ERP vendors owners generally deliver the connexion both to sql server and oracle because their customer's teams already control one of these (really high price formation) and they don't want to move to another high price techno. But you can administer Postgres with a really reasonnable costs. So no needs to use another database. – bealdav Jan 7 at 10:16
