From most FAQs: If your motivation for asking the question is “I would like to participate in a discussion about ...”, then you should not be asking here. However, if your motivation is “I would like others to explain ... to me”, then you are probably OK. – Mark Booth Oct 29 '12 at 13:01

Is it practical for me to design and/or build my own lenses to wear with my glasses?

Questions which start "Is it possible" invite new stack exchange users to answer with "yes" answers, so are generally to be avoided. Better would be "Is it practical", but even better still would be a practical, answerable question based on an actual problem that you face. – Mark Booth Oct 29 '12 at 13:00
It's an interesting question though, and at the root, it should have a real answer. Perhaps, "What is required in terms of time, money, and equipment required to build my own lenses?" – Anonymous Jun 12 at 15:38
