This was an attempt to capitalise on the possible misinterpretation of "Social Engineering" – Willbill Jul 9 '10 at 1:24
This is more a question for Stackoverflow. – qbi Jul 18 '10 at 23:49
Well, if you were to actually see the kind of data that is available using the fb api, you'd be surprised. Once someone becomes your friend, you can go back and read all their status messages since the time they joined Facebook, Its a pain doing it through the interface but using the api its very convenient. Seems like a valid question, but, I can see why someone would think otherwise. – DMin Aug 17 '10 at 12:09
I agree with you that asking some questions about the use of the face-book api in connection to social engineering would be valid, however in this this case, I was referring to technical question of asking how to do a specific action with the api. If it were something more like what "What is the best way to extract information about someone using the face-book API" I would agree with you/ – Willbill Aug 17 '10 at 12:43

There's a presumption that the OP already knows the answer, since they knew enough to know that it might be on-topic here. Thus, this is a great example of an edge-case, off-topic question. – Robert Harvey Jun 10 '10 at 3:55

Some would argue Christianity is social engineering! Interesting question but I think it would come down to debates about personal belief and would be off topic. – William Aug 26 '10 at 3:24
