You could rephrase it, "Japanese, and other, mythologies". And it's been debated on Meta, whether a site should be aimed at experts - with the general thought that if you get experts to the site, the newbies would follow anyway. :) – Cyclops Jun 24 '10 at 18:10

I agree with Cyclops... what about including indian/hindu mythology... check out wiki en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hindu_mythology – Sandy Jul 2 '10 at 11:19

I think we should proceed by evaluating 'Mythology' as a collection of stories, generally centered around a particular time and culture. There should be no prejudgment of their veracity, only the cultural historicity. Belief is not to be considered a (dis)qualifier for evaluating a story as part of a collection of myths. In the cases of Davey Crockett, Hercules, or Jesus all questions posed should be viable as stories meant for interpretation within the context of their given mythology (the collection of stories involving that entity or his/her/its culture). – mfg Nov 4 '10 at 15:54

"I am very interested in mythology. As an Indian, with some formal education in Hindu mythology, I think I will contribute to the site's diversity."
