comment Personal Finance and Money: Should I buy a car?
@Mike I think you are wright it is off-topic but dead wrong about the reason why. Buying a car is the second biggest financial decision most people will make and there are all kinds of financial implications as listed in my earlier comment. It is off-topic because there is no context to this question.

comment Personal Finance and Money: Should I buy or rent my home?
I agree with @Good Person, as it stands this is similar to my "Should I buy a car" question. Without knowing more about the mortgage costs, rental costs, your other financial commitments etc. I don't think this works. I think it would be on topic if phrased in terms of pros and cons or in terms of LTVs and interest rates

@Richard the existing site allows for questions to be marked as country-specific, but many of the questions are cross domain, or relate to cross-border issues. To my knowledge 5 of the top 10 users at basicallymoney.com are Canadian or British

comment Personal Finance and Money: Should I buy a car?
I think as this stands this question is off topic. There is no context on which to base an answer. No reference to the means of payment, budget, usage, tax implications. Merits of used vs new vs renting, insurance etc.
