Dev. Using Java, Spring, Cassandra, Tomcat, Maven and unit tests. Patterns, refactoring, good architecture/design and the agile/pragmatic guff are stuff I see as useful. I'm also a fan of learning how to do stuff - or knowing stuff - well. Haven't been working long - a few years.
Knowledge other than tech. I have a B. Business and B. IT (Info systems) & spent some years in an Australian bankassurance group where I started as part of a graduate program. I also interned for a year with SAP Research doing cross-disciplinary research into business controls & their relation to white-collar crime in the context of Semantic Web technology and IT Security.

Career development. Currently learning Cassandra to work on telematic car insurance. Keen to do some Open-source. NoSql. Linux. I attend Meetups by the London Java Community (LJC) and other tech, agile and NoSQL ones.
