This proposal is about to undergo a final review. This site is about the methods of creating constructed languages, so for the purpose of defining this proposal and the final review, self-defining questions like "what is a conlang?" and "where can I learn how to make one?" doesn't really help define the scope of this site. – Robert Cartaino Jan 27 '17 at 17:57

This question covers exactly the same ground as another question in this proposal.

This proposal is about to undergo a final review, so for the purpose of defining the scope of this proposal, pruning out closely-related questions helps assure we have a sufficient breadth of subject matter to actually create this site. – Robert Cartaino Jan 27 '17 at 18:32

It's difficult to tell what is being asked here. This question is ambiguous, vague, incomplete, overly broad, or rhetorical and cannot be reasonably answered in its current form.

This question is kind of broad, on the actual site I think this question should be more specific. +1 still! – rtpax Dec 9 '16 at 21:32

Are there any successful examples of constructed languages that were designed by more than one person?
added by Miles Rout Jan 4 '17 at 3:16

What do you mean by "successful"? By successful you could mean a bunch of different things. Do you mean that the example language produced a number of books describing it? That it went to cinema? That there is a real intention to use it as an auxiliary language? That any given population percentage can speak it? That it is complete? That it is in active development? That it has achieved popular or academic approval? That it is used in real life? So, again, what do you mean by successful? Just for clarification to other people to come. – Tanatarca Jan 18 '17 at 9:41
@Tanatarca Clarification would be in the question description if the question were asked. – Miles Rout Jan 18 '17 at 22:09

Definition of a language. Is that the only unclear part, or is there something else I ought to clarify? – rtpax Jan 23 '17 at 15:34
I'm interested to hear why whoever downvoted believes that this question would not be a good fit/well designed question for this site – rtpax Jan 30 '17 at 23:01

Which syntactic features are overused in constructed languages?
added by Miles Rout Jan 4 '17 at 3:20

What do you mean by "overused"? Sounds ambiguous and opinion-based. – Dan Getz Jan 4 '17 at 6:40
What's wrong with questions being opinion-based? Every stack exchange has its own rules for what questions are appropriate, and a Q&A site about an hobby that is inherently creative is going to have a lot of subjective questions. – Miles Rout Jan 4 '17 at 21:05
@MilesRout I'm not talking about opinion-based questions in general, but about your example question in particular. Could you clarify what it's asking, and what makes it answerable? – Dan Getz Jan 4 '17 at 22:30
I'm not really sure how it's unclear. What syntactic features are overused in constructed languages? Nominative-accusative morphosyntactic alignment would be an example of something that is arguably overused in conlangs, when there are other ways of doing it (that are rare in indo-european languages). – Miles Rout Jan 5 '17 at 2:57
