Now the question is... where do we draw the line between Raspberry Pi and Electronics though – Earlz Dec 6 '11 at 3:43
3
Not really. "Raspberry-Pi Hardware and Software" seems to cover modifications and extensions to the Raspberry Pi hardware rather well. – Poldie Feb 4 '12 at 21:29

This is a very interesting question because RPi can be used to make Web Enabled Devices at a very low cost which can support HDMI, audio, have external USB-s and etc... – Itay Grudev Mar 7 '12 at 9:06
The question 3rd one or so in current rankings) How do I go about using the general purpose I/O? does ask about the same thing.. :) This one sounds too specific.. and is more about soldering then anything else.. should be migrated to electronics .. – marc-andre benoit Apr 5 '12 at 3:25
@marc I agree, but people seemed to have voted it up instead of down :/ – Earlz Apr 5 '12 at 5:17

How long should I use one SD Card for reliable storage before switching?

Why did this get downvoted? It's not only useful information, but likely has a specific answer for the RPi platform. – jandjorgensen Apr 9 '12 at 1:10
i feel it's a little too sparse on my part.. it has more to do with sd cards in general.. than specific to the uses the RPi has for it.. – marc-andre benoit Apr 12 '12 at 22:21
1
How so? For one, putting an OS on an SD card is usually advised against because of the write limits. The question of how long you can rely on one, especially for this specific device, is not trivial. Plus if it can be useful for future users, it's a great fit for SE. So far I see no reason this isn't a good fit for the site, or at the very least it isn't off-topic and thus deserving of a downvote. – jandjorgensen Apr 12 '12 at 22:27
look i hear you.. but i feel you don't really hear my point of view :) and i didn't downvote it.. sorry if you thought i was answering on that.. i was just voicing my opinion.. – marc-andre benoit Apr 16 '12 at 23:51
Not hearing your point of view is different from disagreeing with it, but I understand. – jandjorgensen Apr 17 '12 at 3:07
