Where can I get good health insurance that works world-wide?

Swap out "good" with something more objective (e.g., "comprehensive", "low-deductible", etc.), and I'd say this is an excellent question. – todofixthis Aug 15 '12 at 21:42
1
It should be on topic on Travel.SE. – Donaudampfschifffreizeitfahrt May 30 '13 at 19:35

Would also be useful to indicate your employment situation in the question (i.e., what kind of income would you be paying taxes on?). – todofixthis Jul 15 '13 at 13:10
Also depend of your Visa – aberration Aug 13 '13 at 22:12

Will move to France soon but don't know any French. What issues will I face?
added by Sklivvz Mar 5 '12 at 21:24
link
1
Not a real question example – Sklivvz Mar 5 '12 at 21:24
2
How is it not a valid question? It follows the general "I'm moving to [country] and don't understand [cultural question]." pattern that seems to define this community. – Doches Jul 20 '12 at 13:38
It's too generic? – Sklivvz Jul 20 '12 at 19:28
1
More realistic: Moving to [Naples] France, but don't know any French. Do most people there speak English? – dykeag Jul 28 '12 at 2:51
2
This is the sort of question which should be used to guide FAQ creation. When people ask questions here, they'll need to understand how to ask them. In this case they should be prompted to be as specific as possible. For example, if they live in Paris (as I do), they can get by without French, but it will be difficult. In Aix-En-Provence it would be much harder. Like any question, more information leads to better answers. – Curtis Poe Dec 23 '12 at 13:15

This is too localized, as the answer varies greatly from city to city, and even block to block. – Flimzy Jun 23 '13 at 7:55
Actually, it is not. In Germany for example, you have to wait from 4 to 6 weeks, no matter where you live. Quite a WTF for foreigner... – Donaudampfschifffreizeitfahrt Jun 25 '13 at 19:39
And in Paraguay, it varies from a few hours to a few months depending on whom you know :P – todofixthis Jul 7 '13 at 5:33

of [nation], Greeks and Germans are both Europeans, don't love eachselves much – Web Devie Aug 1 '13 at 12:19
@WebDevie in my experience, once both are in China, they'll find out they're surprisingly similar, and probably such globetrotters are anyway more tolerant for cultural and political sensitivities. My mother taught Dutch language to Serbs, Croats and Bosniaks, and they had no problems with each other. – gerrit Aug 1 '13 at 13:15

added by Florian Ribon Jan 31 '13 at 16:32

1
This seems relevant for someone about to move abroad. – StrongBad Jul 25 '13 at 7:06
1
With the possible exception of Argentina, or somewhere without international ATMS, this question doesn't make sense to me. How much currency will you need to take with you? Well, you're planning on living in the country, so you'll eventually exhaust whatever money you arrive with no matter how much you bring with you. Perhaps a better question is, "How much money should I save up to live off of for 30 days in [country] (e.g., until my job starts)?" – todofixthis Jul 28 '13 at 21:18

Well, not so likely. If you don't have a job, you're only a tourist. If you get a job, you must check-in, register to tax authorities, social security, health insurance etc. – Donaudampfschifffreizeitfahrt Jun 25 '13 at 19:41
