What is hinduism traditional stance on pre marital sex? Are they allowed or not?
added by Krishnabhadra May 28 '13 at 6:19

The question is ok, but a bit lack of maturity, everything is allowed and disallowed in hinduism, we only talk about Gyan. Everything is your decision, do it or not. – K Cloud Aug 10 '13 at 10:33
I specifically said traditional stance, not official (written) stance. – Krishnabhadra Sep 6 '13 at 8:12

why there are so many gods in Hinduism? Can anyone follow any god?

supersimple misleading question from misunderstanding the religion. -1 – Dee Jun 29 '13 at 18:31
2
yes and for the same reason I've proposed this question. One should believe in single god and many don't know for what purpose they are worshiping whom. Every god in Hinduism can bestow any boon then there should be some reason why our vedic people worshiped many gods. – krishna Jun 30 '13 at 10:09
2
This is a valid question. Why down-vote? People who are new to Hinduism often have this type of question. So I think the answer to this question will help huge number of people. – gpuguy Aug 22 '13 at 7:08

What is Ahinsã?

I think this question would be more historical (about Gandhi) rather than Hinduism-based – asymptotically Aug 21 '13 at 12:11

No the concept of Ahimsa goes way beyond the history of Gandhi (though as a modern saint, Gandhi-ji practiced very well), I believe Ahimsa to be a valid topic for this forum. – Chris O Aug 31 '13 at 23:00

What does a ShivLing represent?

I think adding "why do we worship ShivLing" to question will make this a better question. – DroidDev Aug 12 '13 at 11:16
It seems like a valid question. Some say its related to a body part of Shiv Ji, however not sure where is this mentioned in which shloka. – Shobhit Puri Sep 4 '13 at 0:38

Good question but a bit wide, you might just focus on Lord Brahma (creator), Lord Vishnu (Preserver), and Lord Shiva (destroyer). – Chris O Aug 31 '13 at 23:07
1
@Chris O, that can be done in a good way when we have more space for question. For now, when previous comments are deleted, I can say in comments that i just asked the same question as you suggested. :) – DroidDev Sep 2 '13 at 5:34

What is the birthdate of the river Ganges in the canon of Hinduism ?
added by Sébastien Palcoux Jun 30 '13 at 8:44
link
This question is inappropriate here.It deals with Geology. – Dharmaputhiran Jun 30 '13 at 13:30
Yes in appearance, but it is motivated by the Hindu mythology: the birthdate of the river Ganges coincide with the descent to Earth of the goddess Ganga. It's also at this precise epoch that Rishi-s revealed some precious knowledges to humanity. – Sébastien Palcoux Jun 30 '13 at 13:50
Maybe there are some informations about this birthdate in Hindu canonical books. It would be very interesting to compare them to a geological analyze. – Sébastien Palcoux Jun 30 '13 at 13:54

I'm agree with you @Dineshkumar, so I post the question "What is the geological period of birth of the river Ganges ?" in "Geoscience" (already did) and here I post " What is the birthdate of the river Ganges in the canon of Hinduism ?" – Sébastien Palcoux Jun 30 '13 at 14:13
