This is far too broad. It depends on the OS design. – Gilles Jan 24 '14 at 12:47

I'd take this a step further - on the x86 architecture, the processor starts in real mode. It must enter protected mode to execute 32-bit instructions. – Nathan Osman Apr 12 '14 at 3:46

Please try to propose questions pertaining to your area of interest that fit this topic, any comments/proposals regarding the extent of this group should be posted in the Scope of Operating System discussion (up top). This question in its current form is not constructive. – echad Mar 4 '14 at 12:11
@echad Where should then this topic belongs to? Sorry for being not constructive, think I misunderstood this forum. – mr5 Mar 4 '14 at 15:31
@mr5, Are you proposing a new Forum Proposal? Are you proposing a new example of a question for this Proposal? Are you proposing a discussion for this forum? What is the intention behind this post. If the first, then you need to create a new group, if the second then you need to write that as answer to the scope of proposal up on discussions, if the third, then you must understand these forums are made for objective questions not subjective – echad Mar 4 '14 at 19:20
@mr5 Unless you're trying to help our community here by contributing relevant questions, which this topic may contain. Here is where you create a new proposal for a forum area51.stackexchange.com/proposals/… – echad Mar 5 '14 at 13:07

"best" ignites a subjective debate, try to avoid making questions opinion-based – echad Jul 26 '13 at 15:40
This question will only get opinions. I have never heard of computer security as being "powerful & strong". – geopat Jul 30 '13 at 15:19
