Is there a way to set an animation in background?
added by AminSaghi Aug 13 '13 at 17:53

One way of doing this would be to used a animated GIF as the background - example - this isn't practical as some people block them, and also they have a large file size which means the page takes a long while to load. – Wilf May 30 '14 at 22:54

@user824294 The proposed topic description is "Proposed Q&A site for professional web designers and all web developers..." – Daniel Feb 6 '14 at 15:04
you should be able to find this on stack overflow. – think123 May 8 '14 at 7:14
I think this is on-topic as is about developing and designing a site, as a website using compression could probably use content that would require a large bandwidth, such as High Def images, which would affect the design. An answer would be enable an output filter (see here) so it is compressed before it is sent. – Wilf May 30 '14 at 23:09

This sounds more like an opinion based question to me which is considered as off-topic – Mr. Alien Apr 12 '14 at 4:32
I believe it would be less opinion-based if he added the word "technical" before "advantages" to make it more of a factual technical discussion – shrmn Apr 28 '14 at 0:15

What are the pros and cons of using server-side templating vs. client-side templating when building a website?
added by JPDurham Mar 12 '14 at 2:16
link
This sounds like it will attract subjective answers... – War10ck Apr 24 '14 at 19:21
@War10ck, why do you think it will attract subjective answers? I'll admit, I do see your concern, but I feel that this question lends itself towards an answer that is a list of pros/cons and circumstances in which one technique is preferred over the other. – JPDurham Apr 24 '14 at 20:47
@JPDurham That makes sense. I see your point. Maybe it could be slightly reworded to say something like "What are the pros/cons of server-side templating vs. client-side templating?" Just a thought. I think the list you would get back would be useful. My only concern was to avoid getting answers like "A is much better than B." or "I dislike A." without any reasoning or justification. Otherwise, I think it would be a great list/resource to have. – War10ck Apr 24 '14 at 20:52
@War10ck I changed the wording of the question to reflect what you suggested. I think this should help reduce the number of subjective or unjustified answers this question might get. – JPDurham Apr 30 '14 at 20:06

'Big List questions' and 'opinion-based' are somewhat disliked on a few SE sites, but can provide very useful information on topic, and also means no more similar questions might need to be asked later, such as 'What is the best tool for ...' – Wilf May 30 '14 at 23:44
List questions are acceptable, but maybe not during early beta. If we have lots of basic questions and few important professional ones, it won't make it past beta. My advice is save this for a while and let the site mature a little. Source: I contributed to the death of a beta with a list question :/ – Dom Jun 25 '14 at 12:49
