Do any of the tools that claim to enable x86 Windows applications to run on a Surface with RT actually work?

I admit that I do not understand the question, but it sounds like an appropriate question for SuperUser "How do I enable x86 Windows applications to run on a Surface with RT?" – Tim Dec 15 '13 at 22:57
@Tim Appropriate for Superuser doesn't necessarily mean it will be inappropriate here. There will be some overlap. As an example, questions involving the Ubuntu operating system can be valid on AskUbuntu, Unix, and Superuser. – DanteTheEgregore Dec 18 '13 at 18:58
@Dante Again, I do not completely understand the question. To me it sounds like something where additional software may be needed to solve the problem, but maybe it is also possible with system tools. Also a question like "[Tool x] claims it can do this, but it does not seem to work." is more of a SuperUser question. But you are right, being on topic on another site is not a reason for being off-topic here (and I did not say that). If I would see it as off-topic I would have downvoted it... – Tim Dec 19 '13 at 0:45
@Tim: I like this question. [Tools A, B, C, D, E, F] claim to provide functionality, but I know for a fact tools A and B don't provide it (known broken). Do [C, D, E and F] lie in that matter as well, or is even one of them actually fit for my purpose?". This is a specific variant of "Does tool X provide [functionality]?" which is a better question than the general "Which tools provide [functionality]?" which seems to be fundamental to this site. This variant is one where just reading the marketing blurb is insufficient to recommend given program, you need to verify it works. – SF. Dec 19 '13 at 10:58
Gentlemen, you seem to have captured exactly my thoughts when I posed the question. – Judith Dec 19 '13 at 19:11

Is this question downvoted only because it is for Android? If so how about a program that downloads wikipedia, saves it on a SD card which is then used offline on an Android device? – Tim Dec 19 '13 at 10:33
Probably because Wikipedia already offers this functionality with "Print/Export" – Bernhard Dec 31 '13 at 11:37

Looking for free referencing software, have been using Citavi, but recently moved to JabRef, is there something else I should be considering?
added by Oxinabox Jan 4 '14 at 4:08

The title seems a bit long. Maybe change it to "What free referencing software for scientific papers are available" or something like that. The question body then would contain which ones you tried (probably) – Bernhard Jan 5 '14 at 11:10
I kinda agree, but we don't have bodies for example questions, and I wanted to indicate someone might be wanting to give examples in there questions – Oxinabox Jan 5 '14 at 12:45

What do you mean? Do you want a scorewriter (which would by definition export music sheets) or should the software compose for you. Also what do you want visual input or is sheet/audio generation from text files an option. Please make the question more specific. – Tim Jan 9 '14 at 11:51

Why downvote? I think it is a valid question. It is not necessarily spam, maybe the goal is to send monthly paychecks to employees, or something similar. Question should precise whether templating is needed or not, though. – Nicolas Raoul Jan 7 '14 at 6:56
This was an actual question that failed to get answered on another site. The basic situation was that a non-profit organisation which sends newsletter to it's subscribers with a fairly large attachment. So no not spam. – Thijser Jan 7 '14 at 17:43
