I also have an idea where people could insert chord and scale fragments into their posts - very similar to how on mathoverflow they can enter text and it is converted to LaTeX by jsMath. Wholenote had a similar feature, which was pretty handy when you needed to communicate chords and scales in a post. – asgeo1 Jun 17 '10 at 5:46

@Justin, Guitar is one of (if not the most) popular instruments. I think it makes sense to have it's own community. People who are passionate about guitar would prefer that the whole site just be about that - it keeps the topic narrow enough to keep people interested. I don't think it is like Stack Overflow because most programmers are interested in multiple programming languages, and the languages themselves are interrelated. So it makes sense for them to cover multiple languages. – asgeo1 Jun 20 '10 at 1:52

It's an important process if you want your guitar to play/feel good and pitch perfect tuning. You can most certainly do it yourself. It's not something so complicated that you would have to shell out $50 for a luthier to do. But I'd advise on doing so if your otherwise unsure. – Ophie Jul 31 '10 at 16:43

I think a question like this could be a little subjective unless you specify criteria for "best". Highest cost? My favourite band uses it? It's the kind my mommy bought for my 8th birthday? I can throw it off a building and run it over with a tank? – Wayne Werner Jul 14 '10 at 12:54

It's pretty straight forward actually. Tune your guitar using the tuners and then clamp the nut shut. Recheck your tuning and if there are any irregularities adjust by tightening or loosening the fine tuners, depending if the pitch is flat or sharp. – Ophie Jul 31 '10 at 16:41

	you could lower the action by decreasing the height of the saddles. Try out lower gauge strings as well. – Ophie Jul 31 '10 at 16:38
