This question covers exactly the same ground as another question in this proposal.

Two completely different concepts. This question is asking if Monero could be bolted to BTC or ETH as a Monero sidechain. The other question is asking whether we could add Ethereum EVM support to Monero, which is almost the inverse of the question. – fluffyponyza May 18 '16 at 19:35

Subtle difference: running a node is not the same as using Monero. Where nodes are being hosted is a critical part of Monero's censorship-resistance and decentralisation, even if 90% of the users are in a single country. In fact, it is entirely possible that Monero find most of its use in, say, the USA, but have most of its nodes outside the USA. – fluffyponyza May 18 '16 at 19:34
@fluffyponyza Technically you may be correct (you can certainly argue those nuances when the site launches) — but for the purpose of defining the scope of this proposal, pruning out closely-related questions helps assure we have a sufficient breadth of subject matter to create a strong site. This proposal is about to undergo a final review. I felt this "duplicate" did not add significantly over what has already been asked. I don't agree - I think one some questions of historicity should remain as a permanent answer that people can be referred to. There's one on the Bitcoin StackExchange about Satoshi that is the go-to answer, and covers everything people might need to know.
