I am a computational physics graduate student at the University of Utah. I work on trying to improve methods in condensed matter physics. My research deals with the the Density Matrix Renormalization Group and its associated methods (MPS, MERA, etc.), but I also dabble in Monte Carlo methods and other methods.
I've also recently taken to learning general CS algorithms. I love the simpler ones like quicksort and have tried to find some small improvements with some success. I do a lot of my programming in Python these days, but also write some C and C++. I also know my way around Mathematica and Matlab.
