Being a tech-savvy and passionate ecologist, Sougata Sadhukhan is very keen to implement emerging technologies in wildlife conservation. His childhood curiosity about animal behaviour and communication drove him into the field of wildlife. After finishing his master's in Zoology from Calcutta University, he started his research career with WII in 2013. Soon he got the opportunity to research precisely on his childhood inquisitive, animal communication. In 2017 He registered for a PhD titled “Understanding Wolf Howls and their application In Individual Identification and Population Estimation” from Forest Research Institute (Deemed to be) University, Dehradun. He is on his way to standardising bioacoustics-based population estimation tools for the wolf.
