Visualization is like photography with data as the subject. Impact is the result of perspective, focus, and illumination. I idolize Edward Tufte and Stephen Few. My professional interests also include measurement/analytics, Agile methodologies, software engineering, software craftsmanship, and software assurance. I’m also passionate about coding in general which includes programming language technology and design patterns. My professional interests combined can be thought of as analogous to Business Intelligence (BI)... Maybe Software and Systems Engineering Intelligence? I'm currently loving my work as the product owner for the analytics and integrations teams at Rally Software while trying to find time to finish my PhD from Carnegie Mellon, and squeeze in some work with IARPA. Personal interests include Skiing, woodworking (especially hardscapes), photography, historical fiction, and most of all… my family. I have a wonderful wife and four lovely daughters with whom I love spending time. |
