In the last 15 years, I learned so much about depression and some of the many ways that authorities view this. I learned how to NOT to be medicated and how to take care of yourself without drugs. Ultimately if you have experienced depression, the best thing is to learn all you can, from nutrition (the number ONE thing to learn) and about all the side effects of the various drugs that may be prescribed to you if you seek medical intervention.

Acceptance of your dilemma as a way of working through the reasons you maybe traveling that particular pathway. Examine the Spiritual aspects of that journey, don't deny that element.

Get out in the sunshine as much as possible. Winter days are notorious for Seasonal Affective dysthymia disorder or SADD when days are shortest and there are mostly cloudy days. The circadian clock is most important. When you abuse your sleep pattern, you can set yourself up for much grief later.

There are tanning beds that emit the good UV rays that mimic sunlight if you are where the days are really short and nights long.
