e.g. when doing the 1st estimated payment, for the period Jan 1st - Mar 31st, do I pay taxes on money that is in bank by Mar 31st, or the check received Mar 31st? or invoiced by Mar 31st? I believe the answer is: you have to pay taxes on checks that you have received in the mail by Mar 31st, irrespective of whether it's in the bank or not. – tom Oct 7 '10 at 16:24

"Best" can be difficult to define (and subjective). Could something along the lines of "How do freelancing sites compare on <specific feature>" be more likely to get knowledgable answers? – Dawn Sep 28 '10 at 7:04
