I"ve always seen "Deep Web" as generic term and not necessarily associated with http. More of a suite of services that are associated with obfuscation with tor. As well, there are real time chat services via tor that are offered through http. I think limiting 'Deep Web" to only http services is a mistake IMO. – Citizen Jun 17 '15 at 18:07

This site is bound to get questions that misunderstand what the deep web is. I think it would be unfair to say they are off topic because it seems like there is some sort of "initiation" to being able to participate in the site. – Jacob Swanson Sep 5 '15 at 5:03

A agree with Mr. Swanson, due to its inherent mystery, a site of this nature is bound to be filled with people who don't fully understand the Deep Web...and people seeking to use the Deep Web for nefarious purposes (i.e. questions like, "Is the Deep Web really illegal?). – Michelfrancis Bustillos Nov 16 '15 at 5:33
