Some areas of land are devoted to grazing, if they stopped being used for meat production, how could they contribute to feeding a vegan world?
added by James Jenkins May 10 '16 at 10:14

Clarify: Currently large areas of the world are devoted to grazing, many of these areas have historically been incapable of more profitable food production. If there was no longer a market for animal flesh, they would stop adding food value to the world, how could these grazing areas help feed the people of the world? – James Jenkins May 10 '16 at 10:19

What major fast food restaurants (in country) have vegetarian/vegan options?

I agree this is too localized if it is just a specific location or way too broad if you want all of them all over the world. – wythagoras Jan 5 '16 at 12:19

Changed to "What major fast food restaurants have vegetarian/vegan options?" – OldBunny2800 Jan 9 '16 at 1:43

I'm all out of upvotes, but this is a very relevant question, so I voted to reopen it. It's a difficult question because the answers may change over time, but I think that the community could keep it up to date. Citing sources would be very important here. BTW, you could more appropriately get into further detail with similar questions for individual restaurants, e.g. "As a vegetarian/vegan, what can/can't I eat at McDonalds?" – user1354557 Apr 26 '16 at 19:19

closed as not a real question by Robert Cartaino Jul 8 '16 at 18:40

It's difficult to tell what is being asked here. This question is ambiguous, vague, incomplete, overly broad, or rhetorical and cannot be reasonably answered in its current form.

Rationale: are there any articles trying to estimate: - the number of people that wouldn't be suffering from cardiometabolic diseases; - the number of life years not lost; - the cost of drugs we would stop using; - the cost of disabilities not being developed; etc. – Attilio Apr 25 '16 at 5:17
There are already a lot questions about "what are the effects of [x] if everyone went vegan?" This is too broad in trying to capture them all. – Robert Cartaino Jul 8 '16 at 18:40
1
If Robert Cartaino doesn't like this way of asking, maybe is better to say "Please share reference of articles"? I think the question is important, and doesn't deserve to be closed. – Attilio Jul 17 '16 at 15:05

I think this wouldn't be on topic as it is about ethics and mainly subjective – dsgriffin Jan 17 '16 at 14:57
2
Ethics and diet are both important aspects of Vegetarianism. I don't think you can have a site about Vegetarianism and exclude ethics. Some sites have ethic tags in fact many do. I concur that managing subject questions is important but a question about ethics is not automatically off topic if it relates to the site's subject. – James Jenkins Jan 18 '16 at 11:48
I think this is off-topic because you could substitute any activity for "eating meat" and end up with essentially the same question: "If X is bad, how is pretend X not bad also?" More of a philosophy or neuroscience question maybe? – tubes Jan 21 '16 at 19:13
@James, I've reconsidered your point and have made a new discussion about this – dsgriffin Feb 3 '16 at 14:33
While innocent sounding on the surface, questions getting into ethical debates probably would not be allowed generally: discuss.area51.stackexchange.com/a/22809/5 – Robert Cartaino Apr 14 '16 at 4:01
