Geographic Information Systems: How does google know exactly where my laptop is from a Wi-Fi signal? Hi Steve This is not new and would take a bit of time to explain. all wifi have mac addresses but the are not unique and are constantly transmitting this mac addy therefore if you know a addy and where it is you can adjust the database accordingly also does gogle have access to your account and what do you have in it. So i suppose we can go on about the ability to capture data from different accounts and keep refining it to we get a set point. we can support this with cell tower data as well Sunnie |
