@ripper: Force Close is an SE 1.0 site. It's been stated several times in the past that the existence of a "legacy" site shouldn't influence a decision on whether or not to create an Area 51 proposal. for this site, this would likelier be off-topic; but for the developer site it would be more on-topic maybe. i was trying to make use of the 'why java' question below and make it relevant to the Q&A model so specifics could be sussed out about developing on android if Java is partially gutted from Android – mfg Aug 24 '10 at 13:40

	This is actually a question about AT&T, not Android. Also, not relevant to anyone outside of North America. The better question might have what are the pros and cons of the HTC {Model} and Samsung {model}, which is still strictly speaking not about Android, but is closer. – Captain Toad Aug 19 '10 at 9:52

I would love to call this off-topic, considering that there are 'objective' answers grounded in company announcements, but the rumor mill will ultimately grind out frustration and i agree this is just not a good example for a Q&A bb – mfg Aug 18 '10 at 12:51
